Ja’far Al Sabbagh

Ja'far is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team at Kayan Law. He represents multijurisdictional corporations in high stake commercial and business disputes and is primarily responsible for a number of contentious litigation and arbitration cases. Ja’far’s experience involves preparing the defence for an agency commission claim (value of US$3 million), (ii) drafting the needed notices as well as legal documents in respect of trademark infringement, (iii) negotiating and successfully concluding a favourable settlement (value of more than JOD 500,000), (iv) drafting and reviewing all related documents with respect to an arbitration claim (total value of US$10 million).

 

addition, Ja’far is involved in a wide range of cases including employment law, property law, medical negligence, monetary claims, the law of tort, intellectual property, company disputes, commercial agency contracts, construction and criminal complaints, theft, blackmail, mistrust, and cybercrimes. His experience in the Commercial team involved participation in several major acquisitions, negotiating, drafting and reviewing a number of English and Arabic documents in cross-border transactions, preparing legal memos and advice on local regulatory practices, drafting various types of agreements including, lease agreements, joint ventures, partnership agreements, agency agreements, supply agreements, licensing agreements, consultancy agreement, services agreements, employment agreements, and purchase agreements. Ja'far is admitted to the Jordan Bar. He has obtained both his LLB and LLM from the University of Liverpool. During his studies, he was the president of the University of Liverpool Arab Society, a student ambassador and a student advisor at Liverpool Law Clinic where he provided pro bono work to the local community.
